Hometown Initiative

Open Door of Hope provides short and long term housing to men in need of help and want to change their lives.  Many of the men at Open Door have suffered from substance abuse, difficult financial situations, etc.  Open Door helps these men find jobs, provides them with a safe place to live, requires it be a drug / alcohol free facility, and teaches the men the love of Christ.

Support our NewChapter

Our General Fund allows us to offer on-the-spot assistance to our friends in need.  Through our General Fund we have helped children in our community with medical bills, sponsored a local suicide prevention event, helped a family with their bills as they focused their resources on their son's medical expenses, sponsored a local campaign to raise heroin addiction awareness and many more great opportunities to serve.

Each summer children from the Latino community come to Centro Latino to learn and play in a safe environment.  Children work on their English, advance their computer skills and do fun things like go to the park, the pool, and the movies!

Your support of Hometown Initiative allows us to be a primary underwriter of the camp.  You bring smiles to these children throughout the summer!

Centro Latino provides classes, services, inexpensive clothing, and other support to many in-need members of the Latino community in Shelby County. In the past  we have been able to pay for Christmas gifts, clothes, and about half ($7,000!) of their  four-week Summer Camp, which is run for academically at-risk kids who come out sharpened in Reading, Math, and Computer skills. They have been a pleasure to work with and will continue to be in the future.

Our newest chapter is based in Northern Kentucky and led by Ainsley Marlette.

Ainsley is devoted to providing children with nutritious meals.  Ainsley has been spreading the Good News about how just a small donation can help one of these kiddos in need.  $12 will provide a weekend of food for one of our young friends.

Centro Latino

The mission of Dorman Center is to provide a service program of early intervention, with mainstreamed learning opportunities in the least restrictive environments to allow the child who is at risk with delays mentally, physically, emotionally/socially to develop to their fullest potential. We seek to provide families with a support system of service collaboration that will assist with the transition to other programs and avenues of positive growth.
